Metro Service Changes
The upcoming semi-annual service change starting June 27 will include big changes as we’re implementing Phase 2 of the NextGen Bus Plan to offer more frequent service on many of our routes.
Rental Assistance Opens March 30
The City of Los Angeles, in partnership with the federal government and the State of California, has created a new emergency rental assistance program to assist low-income renters who have been unable to pay their rent due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Apply by April 30.
Bellaire Park Project Under Way
Rec & Park has removed all the damaged equipment and will soon begin the installation of the new equipment. The project should be completed by the end of spring.

Stormwater Capture for Goodland & Cohasset
The project to capture stormwater and address flooding at Goodland and Cohasset during the next rainy season will begin construction the week of September 21.

NoHo West Proudly Welcomes Bridge Home
A new Bridge Housing Shelter in North Hollywood, which will not only house and feed 85 people, but will offer service enriched programs to help clients rebuild their lives, find a job, and move into permanent housing opened July 2020!
LAUSD School Opening Update
A presentation was made to the LAUSD School Board on Reopening. Families responded that 35% wanted students to attend school on campus full time. 37% requested a blended approach, whereas 28% wanted to remain online. However, only 44% of staff were willing to return to campus.

You can now use pick up services at the Studio City, Panorama City or Sherman Oaks Library! Find out how. L.A. Sanitation’s S.A.F.E. Collection Centers will reopen on July 11, 2020 for household hazardous waste and electronic waste drop-off.

Hope of the Valley, which provides 582 shelter beds in the San Fernando Valley points out that while 8% of the LA County population is black, 34% of people experiencing homelessness are black.
